Genesis was walking from her Psychology class when she spotted Destiny walking into the building. She hadn’t seen Destiny in a while, but she knew that she was Taliyah’s best friend. “Hey Destiny, how are you?” Genesis asked with a friendly smile as they neared one another.

“Hey, Genesis. I am good. How about yourself?” Destiny asked, giving Genesis a friendly hug.

“I am good as well,” Genesis said. She was trying to be as friendly as possible even though their encounter was very unusual.

“Have you spoken to Taliyah?” Destiny asked, trying to make small talk.

“Briefly. You haven’t?” Genesis said with a raised eyebrow. She was clueless that Taliyah’s best friend hadn’t even heard from her.

“No, I haven’t since...” Destiny spoke sadly as her voice trailed off.

Genesis was confused but didn’t have time to respond because she spotted Torrie walking toward them as if she had a mission to complete.

“Ladies.” Torrie spoke with fake enthusiasm.

“Hey,” they both said dryly.

Torrie put a smile on her face. She knew that neither of them cared for her, but she didn’t care. She had something she needed to accomplish, and if being fake was the way to go then that’s what she had plans to do. “Genesis, how is Taliyah?” she asked with a smirk.

Genesis looked at her, confused. ‘Why is she asking me how Taliyah is when they are together?’ Genesis thought. “I’m not sure,” Genesis replied simply.

“Oh well, I hope all is well. Have a good day,” Torrie said as she turned on her heels to walk away. Suddenly, she stopped mid-stride and turned back around. “Oh yeah, tell her congrats on the pregnancy, and I hope it’s going well.”

Genesis looked at her, confused. She was about to say that there was no way that Taliyah could be pregnant but there was no need. When she looked to her right and saw Destiny looking as if she was a deer caught in headlights, she knew it was true, and it was probably supposed to be a secret.

Genesis didn’t stand there a minute longer to get any more information. She needed to talk to Taliyah and fast. As soon as Genesis ran away from the building, Torrie brushed her hands together as if to say her job had been done. Looking at Destiny with a smirk, Torrie turned and walked away.

The moment Genesis got to her car, she pulled out her phone and dialed Taliyah’s number. Taliyah answered on the second ring, and Genesis barely gave her a change to say hello. “You’re pregnant?” Genesis blurted out. There was nothing but silence on Taliyah’s end so Genesis knew it was true, but she was still confused.

How could she be pregnant?
